GROUP by in SSRS reports

PARENT GROUP

Step 1: 

Delete the Deptno column in report by right clicking on column and choose delete column (Compare both the captures)

Step 2: 

Click on arrow of Row Groups-->Add Group-->Parent Group

Step 3:  Select the Check box i.e., Add group header and from the drop down list select which field we want to make a Group. Then click OK

Step 4: Click on Preview
